- in table groups: Why does Shakespeare focus on this? Consider: Macbeth was written for (and performed in front of) King James I. (3-5 minutes)

- re-read the Porter’s speech
- define satire (you can google it)
- list different people who could be “knocking”
- draw conclusions: what satirical commentary could the porter be giving about the types of people “knocking”?
- Why does Shakespeare include this speech? (consider concrete options as well as deeper-level suggestions)
